Domestic Developer's Edition
The purpose of Developer's Edition is to allow organizations to enhance their current shipping practices by allowing them to leverage information while increasing overall efficiency. Labelmaster Software can provide this unique version of our leading hazmat transportation software to shipper's that require a more integrated, custom solution, without incurring special development charges.
The Developer's Edition functions exactly as our core program, but will allow the end user to create the interfaces that will minimize data entry and hazmat shipping errors. Users will enjoy an immediate benefit in the form of reduced labor costs and maximized efficiency.
How important this re-keying is to your organization's efficiency depends on the volume of HAZMAT shipments and the number of systems that need to share this information.
Typically, the shipment information required by Masterform is entered first into an order entry system. After the package is processed in Masterform, the package is then run through a shipping or manifesting system. Again, the manifesting system often requires shipment information that was originally entered in the order system and then re-keyed into Masterform.
The Developer's Edition allows integrators to push information into Masterform from an order or distribution system, and to pull information out of Masterform to integrate into their Manifest system.
Please note that our traditional Masterform product automatically integrates with the UPS WorldShip shipping system.
Developer's Edition uses the same engine as the traditional product. It also shares a common user interface. This means you can count on the logic and ease of use of our traditional product. Masterform will validate the hazmat information against the UPS chemical table and prompt the end-user when their package information violates required practices.
The Developer's Edition adds an ODBC compliant database where information between systems can be shared in a consistent, well-defined and protected manner.
Like the traditional product, the Developer's Edition is licensed annually. During the term of your license you will be able to take advantage of chemical table updates and free "Tier 1" technical support. Should more extensive support be required, Labelmaster Software will advise the client in advance.
Developer's Edition is not for everybody. In order to use Developer's Edition, your team must meet all of the following requirements.
- You must have a detailed knowledge of the system you are trying to integrate with Masterform.
- You must have appropriate security permissions to the system you are trying to integrate with Masterform. You may need to ask your system administrator to determine whether you have this access.
- You must have a good working knowledge of ODBC and general database concepts.
- You should have a separate test environment so that you can test without interrupting normal shipments.
- You need a basic understanding of how Masterform works and how to use templates.
- Everyone involved in the integration project should have a basic understanding of how to ship HAZMAT safely.
